The amusement park “Aventura Park” located in the center of the capital city risks being dismantled following long-lasting misunderstandings between its administrator of the park and the management of the Moldexpo Exhibitions Center on whose territory the park is situated. The entrepreneur said the authorities constantly delay leasing that lot out, despite repeated requests and investments made in the park, IPN reports.
Ștefan Macar, administrator of the company “Moto Lunaparc”, which manages the amusement park, in a news conference hosted by IPN said that he has been trying unsuccessfully for seven years to obtain a lease contract for all the equipment purchased for the park.
„I had to go from Moldexpo to the Public Properties Agency and these shifted responsibility onto each other. In the end, I was told that I have to take the whole lot of over 1 hectare at a price of almost 1,000 lei per square meter. It’s impossible”, said the company’s administrator.
Ștefan Macar noted that from an initial rate of 17.4 lei per square meter, the rent increased almost 50 times, reaching an amount that he cannot cover – 984.5 lei per square meter. In addition, he was asked to take over the management of the entire lot, instead of paying only for the used space.
„If I use part of the lot, why do I have to pay for everything?” asked the administrator, stressing that the park’s activity is seasonal and depends on the weather. “We work for 5-6 months a year and cannot work during the rest of the period. How can they set such a rent?”, added the administrator.
The entrepreneur also said that he constantly invested in the maintenance and development of the park: “We put guards, cleaned up, repaired the equipment, planted 1 000 roses and 1 000 thuja trees. We brought stone for the repair of the stairs. We spent enormous amounts.”
Ștefan Macar complained that during all this time, the administrator of Moldexpo did not allow him to intervene on the lot for the reason that it does not belong to him: “When I asked for electricity to carry out repair works, I was told that I could not work there.”
According to the administrator, “Aventura Park”, being located in a central area of the city, is equipped with modern equipment, including a Ferris wheel brought from England, which cannot be installed due to the lack of legal access to the lot. „Where should children go to have fun outdoors?”, asked Ștefan Macar.
„I destroyed my health in the fight with the authorities. The park had not worked for six years before I took over the management. Now it’s neglected. My access to electric power is restricted and the people can no longer walk safely there at night”, the entrepreneur told the press conference.
The administrator noted that, under the current conditions, he would have to sell tickets at the price of over 1 000 lei per unit so as to be able to cover the rent and current expenses.
