Admission to universities to move online

Starting with 2024, the persons will be able to apply to universities online, through the information system “e-Admission”. The concept of the system was approved by the Cabinet on Wednesday, IPN reports.

According to Minister of Education Dan Perciun, the new mechanism will simplify the admission process, will increase the file processing speed and will reduce the period of time for storing paper documents. “The system will standardize and automate the process of submitting files of admission to universities. It will also improve the process of keeping records of budget-funded places and this will ultimately have a positive impact on the whole admission process,” said the official.

Twenty-one higher educational establishments work in Moldova at present. Of them, 13 are public institutions, while eight are private ones.

Meteorologists have issued a yellow heatwave warning for this weekend. In most parts of the country, the maximum temperatures will reach +34 degrees Celsius, reports IPN.

The warning is valid for the center, south, and east of the country. Several districts in the north are also under the yellow code. The northernmost districts of the country such as Briceni, Ocnita, Edinet, Drochia, Soroca, Glodeni, Rascani, and Donduseni – are not affected by the warning.

According to the Authority for Meteorology and Environmental Monitoring, the warning can be updated depending on the evolution of weather phenomena.

During periods of heatwave, authorities recommend people to avoid prolonged exposure to the sun during peak hours, to consume enough fluids, and to pay increased attention to children, the elderly, and people with chronic conditions.
