Admission to Eastern Partnership European School in Georgia underway

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration has announced a Call for Applications for the Eastern Partnership European School Scholarship program for the academic year 2023/2024, IPN reports.

The overall aim is to promote high quality international education in the Eastern Neighborhood region. The specific objective is to launch a merit-based Scholarship Program for a European-focused IB Diploma through an IB partner School in Tbilisi, Georgia, open to students from all six EU Eastern neighbors.

All eligible students from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine aged 16-17 years old, as on 1st September 2023 are invited to apply. The deadline for applications is March 16, 2023.

Up to 20 successful students will be chosen to obtain a full scholarship for a European-focused International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program.

Funded by the European Union, the Eastern Partnership European School Program aims at promoting secondary education opportunities for students from the six EU Eastern Partnership countries. The program was successfully launched in 2018 and is now in its fifth year. Students selected for the current call will join the program in the academic year 2023/2024.

Over the last three years, 17 students from the Republic of Moldova graduated from the European School. Five Moldovan students admitted in 2021 are to graduate this year.



Meteorologists have issued a yellow heatwave warning for this weekend. In most parts of the country, the maximum temperatures will reach +34 degrees Celsius, reports IPN.

The warning is valid for the center, south, and east of the country. Several districts in the north are also under the yellow code. The northernmost districts of the country such as Briceni, Ocnita, Edinet, Drochia, Soroca, Glodeni, Rascani, and Donduseni – are not affected by the warning.

According to the Authority for Meteorology and Environmental Monitoring, the warning can be updated depending on the evolution of weather phenomena.

During periods of heatwave, authorities recommend people to avoid prolonged exposure to the sun during peak hours, to consume enough fluids, and to pay increased attention to children, the elderly, and people with chronic conditions.
