The repeated forensic examination in the case of Ludmila Vartic has been completed

The repeated forensic examination in the case of the educator Ludmila Vartic has been completed and largely confirms the conclusions of the first examination, according to which the death occurred as a result of injuries caused by falling from a height. The information was confirmed for IPN by the communication officer of the General Prosecutor’s Office, Violina Moraru.

Violina Morari stated that the report also includes answers to additional questions posed during the investigation, but the experts’ conclusions cannot be made public, considering the confidential nature of the criminal investigation. According to her, the document was presented to the accused and his lawyer and is to be made known to the other parties in the process.

The husband of the educator, Dumitru Vartic, the only suspect in the case, confirmed on social networks that he was presented with the medico-legal expertise report signed by six experts, including one from Romania. He stated that the document confirms that his wife’s death occurred as a result of injuries caused by falling from a height.

At the end of May, the Minister of Internal Affairs, Daniella Misail-Nichitin, announced that the supplementary medical-legal expertise, carried out with the participation of an expert from Romania, had been completed, and the authorities were waiting for the written report. According to her, the preliminary conclusions did not indicate new elements compared to the first expertise.

The case is being investigated after information about possible acts of domestic violence prior to the death of the educator emerged in the public space. The file is being examined in terms of the crime of family violence leading to suicide. Dumitru Vartic has denied the allegations.

Meteorologists have issued a yellow heatwave warning for this weekend. In most parts of the country, the maximum temperatures will reach +34 degrees Celsius, reports IPN.

The warning is valid for the center, south, and east of the country. Several districts in the north are also under the yellow code. The northernmost districts of the country such as Briceni, Ocnita, Edinet, Drochia, Soroca, Glodeni, Rascani, and Donduseni – are not affected by the warning.

According to the Authority for Meteorology and Environmental Monitoring, the warning can be updated depending on the evolution of weather phenomena.

During periods of heatwave, authorities recommend people to avoid prolonged exposure to the sun during peak hours, to consume enough fluids, and to pay increased attention to children, the elderly, and people with chronic conditions.
