From refuge to entrepreneurship: A Ukrainian woman makes eco-healthy sweets in Ribnita with the support of the Tiraspol Business Hub

Irina, a refugee from Ukraine, is one of more than 5,600 people enjoying temporary protection in Moldova’s Transnistrian region. Today, Irina produces eco-healthy sweets: fruit crisps, pastilles, churchkhela, sugar-free lollipops and even Belgian chocolate, decorated with natural colorings.

Her idea took shape thanks to the support of the Innovation Agency – Business Hub in Tiraspol. After completing a three-month course, Irina obtained a grant from the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC), which enabled her to buy equipment and furniture, partly cover rent and advertising.

Traffic on Minsk Street in the capital will be suspended from July 20-24. The restrictions target the section between Hanul Morii and Cetatea Alba streets, in the Botanica sector. To reach the area, drivers will be able to use Tașkent Street, reports IPN.

The measure was established based on a provision of the City Hall of Chisinau and is necessary for the execution of connection works to the water supply and sewerage networks on Tallin Street, 21.

During the interventions, temporary road signs and protective barriers will be installed in the area. After the completion of the works, the road surface will be restored.

The General Inspectorate of Police recommends drivers to drive cautiously, to respect temporary road signs and to choose alternative routes to avoid traffic jams and delays.
