The Russian Federation has caused devastating damage to Ukraine, and it is impossible for Moscow to ever see its assets, which are now frozen, again unless it fully compensates Ukraine for war reparations. The statement was made by the High Representative of the European Union, Kaja Kallas, after a meeting in Copenhagen with foreign ministers from EU countries, IPN reports.
Kaja Kallas pointed out that European foreign ministers discussed, among other things, ways to increase pressure on Russia to get it to agree to peace talks with Ukraine. Among the options considered were new sanctions packages, including secondary measures against Moscow.
The foreign ministers of the European Union are meeting in Copenhagen for an informal Foreign Affairs Council. Several important topics are on the agenda, including Russia’s war of aggression in Ukraine and the situation in the Middle East. In this format, ministers do not take official decisions, but analyze and debate issues in depth.
