The Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelensky, has warned that the country is facing considerable pressure in the context of the peace plan proposed by the USA, which puts Ukraine in a difficult choice between dignity and maintaining a key partner. However, Zelensky reaffirmed that he will not break the oath taken at his inauguration, firmly committing to defend the sovereignty and independence of Ukraine, as well as the rights and freedoms of its citizens, reports IPN.

In an address to the Ukrainian people, Volodimir Zelenski mentioned that Ukraine will work constructively with the USA, as well as with all partners, in identifying constructive solutions to end the war, without giving the enemy reasons to accuse Kiev of not wanting peace.

At the same time, the leader from Kiev emphasized that the Ukrainian authorities will secure a commitment to ensure that at least two points are not omitted from a peace plan: the dignity and freedom of Ukrainians, because, according to him, these are the basis of sovereignty, independence, and the future of Ukraine.

According to international press, the peace plan, drafted by the USA, includes 28 points and proposes, among other things, the cession of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions to Russia, recognition of the annexation of Crimea, Ukraine’s temporary renunciation of NATO membership, acceptance of Russian as an official language, and granting official status to the Russian Orthodox Church. In return, Ukraine would receive security guarantees from European countries and the USA, and Moscow would return parts of the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions. Russia would legally commit not to attack Ukraine or other European countries.

A 22-year-old young man from the capital has been detained, suspected of distributing drugs online as part of an organized criminal group. Following the searches, law enforcement officers seized narcotics worth over one million lei, reports IPN.

According to the General Inspectorate of Police, drugs were found at the suspect’s residence, preliminarily hashish and cocaine, as well as high-precision electronic scales and objects used for portioning and packaging substances.

At the same time, the police identified several hideouts arranged by this person, from where they seized packages of narcotic substances. These were to be picked up by other members of the group and distributed to consumers.

If found guilty, the young man risks a prison sentence ranging from 7 to 15 years. Investigations continue to establish all circumstances and identify the individuals involved.
