The Vice President of the territorial organization Rascani of the “Shor” party, declared unconstitutional, has been sent to trial. The Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office specifies that she is accused of complicity in the illegal financing of the formation by an organized criminal group, reports IPN.
According to prosecutors, during the period of July – October 2022, the accused, in her role as vice-president of the territorial organization Rascani of the “Shor” party, allegedly coordinated the activities of the organization, knowing that the party was funded by an organized criminal group. “She contributed to the acceptance of illicit funding, providing guidance, information, and resources to support the party’s activities,” the PA statement reads. Prosecutors mention that, through the actions of the accused, the party would have been illegally funded with over 540 thousand lei.
The criminal case was sent for substantive examination to the Chisinau Court, Buiucani headquarters.
The accused did not admit her guilt.
For the committed offense, the law provides a penalty in the form of a fine ranging from 57,500 to 92,500 lei, or between 2 and 7 years of imprisonment. In addition, the individual is deprived of certain functions or activities for a period ranging from 2 to 5 years.
