The National Integrity Authority has identified a former chief inspector from the National Inspectorate for Technical Supervision and his wife with unjustified wealth of over 9.3 million lei. The difference was calculated based on the discrepancies between the income earned, the wealth owned, and the expenses made during the period 2018-2024, reports IPN.
The former inspector from INST acknowledged some omissions or errors in his wealth statements, explaining that these were not intentional and were due to a lack of training on correctly completing the documents. The integrity inspector analyzed these arguments, including expenses for real estate and the reduction of cash, partially rejecting some explanations.
Following the checks, the authorities found discrepancies between the acquired wealth and the declared income, which raises suspicions of undeclared wealth and may entail legal consequences.
According to ANI, the finding will be sent to court for examination and for ordering the confiscation of unjustified wealth.
