The assessment of the ethical and financial integrity of the acting Attorney General, Alexandru Machidon, has not been completed. The members of the Prosecutor’s Evaluation Commission have not reached a consensus on the specialty report, reports IPN.

According to the information published by the Vetting Commission, the Evaluation Panel A did not gather the necessary number of votes. According to the law, in the absence of unanimity, the report is to be examined by the Evaluation Commission. The document must be approved by the majority of the members, including the support of at least three international members, within a maximum of 30 working days from receipt.

The evaluation process aims to verify compliance with ethical and financial integrity standards, including wealth justification, tax compliance, absence of conflicts of interest, and adherence to professional conduct rules.

A month ago, Alexandru Machidon was audited in an additional session, behind closed doors, by the A Panel of the Prosecutor Evaluation Commission.

Alexandru Machidon has been active in the system since 2011. He served as the interim deputy of the Criuleni district prosecutor, and held the acting position of deputy to the chief prosecutor of PCCOCS. At the end of May 2025, he was appointed as the acting general prosecutor.
