The Republic of Moldova is switching to “winter time” by setting the clocks back one hour on the last Sunday in October. Thus, on the night of October 24–25, 03:00 AM will become 02:00 AM, according to IPN.
According to experts, the time change can disrupt the body’s internal clock, causing insomnia, fatigue, and difficulty concentrating. In some cases, it can exacerbate chronic conditions, including cardiovascular, digestive, and mental health issues.
To make the adjustment easier, doctors recommend sticking to a regular sleep schedule, staying hydrated, eating a balanced diet, getting physical activity, and spending time in natural light. The body usually adjusts within two to three days, but the process can take up to ten days.
The switch to daylight saving time will take place on the last Sunday in March, when the clocks will be set forward from 03:00 AM to 04:00 AM.
Daylight saving time has been in effect in the Republic of Moldova for several years, in line with the practice of European Union member states.
