The “Încredere” Rehabilitation and Social Integration Center in Nisporeni has undergone energy rehabilitation. The works were carried out with the support of the European Union and the Soros Foundation Moldova, as part of the “Local Partnerships for Energy Efficiency in Social Services” initiative, reports IPN.

According to the Ministry of Energy, the building, constructed in 1975 and previously renovated in 2006, has been modernized to reduce energy losses. The exterior walls and base have been insulated, and the roof has been repaired. The total value of the investment is 1.3 million lei. Out of this amount, 1.1 million lei were provided through the project, and 176 thousand lei represent the contribution of the Nisporeni City Hall.

According to the Minister of Energy, Dorin Junghietu, who visited the institution, investments in energy efficiency mean more comfort and more security for beneficiaries. “Such projects demonstrate that the energy transition has concrete effects in the daily life of citizens,” declared Dorin Junghietu.

The project director at the Soros Foundation Moldova, Daniela Leahu, pointed out that the initiative has created local partnerships between authorities and civil society, and that the center in Nisporeni is the first social service completed out of the 35 supported initiatives.

According to the director of the center, Aurelia Artene, the building is already equipped with thermal windows and doors, and in 2023 photovoltaic panels were installed covering approximately 71% of the annual energy requirement. Following the energy audit, the institution is approaching the standard of nearly zero-energy buildings.

The “Incredere” Center annually provides services for approximately 40 beneficiaries of the placement center and around 400 beneficiaries of the social canteen.

The National Agency for Energy Regulation will examine on Friday the request from Energocom regarding the increase in natural gas prices. The subject was included on the agenda of the ANRE meeting on July 24, reports IPN.

Energocom has requested an increase in the regulated price for consumers connected to low-pressure distribution networks from 13.35 lei to 19.37 lei per cubic meter, excluding VAT.

The request is motivated by the increase in natural gas procurement costs, against the backdrop of geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and the volatility of international markets. According to Energocom, these have generated an estimated tariff deficit of around 106 million lei.
