The President of the Rezina district, Teodor Cuculescu, along with several mayors, district and local councilors, have announced their adherence to the Modern Democratic Party of the Republic of Moldova, reports IPN. The decision was communicated in a video message.
On August 14, Cuculescu left the ranks of the members of the Moldova Development and Consolidation Party, as well as his position as President of the Rezina Territorial Organization of this formation.
The district president stated that the decision to join the PDMM is not formal, but expresses the belief that “politics should be a tool for progress and equity”.
He described the initiative as a significant step for the future of the communities in the district. “We want the political class in the Republic of Moldova to promote transparency, responsibility, solidarity, and respect for citizens. We believe that through sustained work and constructive dialogue we can meet people’s expectations”, said the president of the Rezina district.
The representatives of the PDMM have welcomed the announcement. In a message posted on Facebook, the party extended a warm welcome to the new members and expressed their conviction that their contribution will aid in achieving the party’s objectives.
Previously, the PDMM appealed to citizens to support the political project in the September elections, stating that it is important for responsible and professional individuals to reach Parliament.
On August 18, the representatives of PDMM submitted the list of candidates for the parliamentary elections on September 28 and the necessary documents for registration in the electoral race. The PDMM president, Boris Foca, the founder of the party, Vlad Cebotari, and the former Minister of Justice, Fadei Nagacevschi, also a former member of PDCM from which Cuculescu also left, presented themselves at the CEC.
