The Minister of Energy, Dorin Junghietu, will conduct a working visit to the United States of America from February 23-25, where he will participate in the Transatlantic Gas Security Summit. The official will have meetings with partners and representatives of the energy sector. The visit aims to strengthen bilateral cooperation and attract investments in the field, reports IPN.
The agenda includes discussions with representatives of the US Treasury Department, including the Office of Foreign Assets Control, regarding the impact of the sanctions regime on the energy sector.
The Minister will discuss with the representatives of the World Bank about financing some strategic projects, including the construction of thermoelectric power plants in Chisinau.
Additionally, Dorin Junghietu will address the construction of the Straseni-Gutinas power line, carried out in partnership with the USA. Meetings with representatives of the company conducting the pre-feasibility study are planned.
The program also includes meetings with members of the US Congress and representatives of the State Department regarding American support for reforms in the energy sector. The Minister will also discuss with members of organizations in the gas field, on the subject of developing the Vertical Corridor and diversifying supply sources.
