The Government launches a new edition of the campaign “The Library under the Fir Tree”, organized for the fourth time. Throughout December, books will be collected under the fir tree in the Government House, which will be donated to school libraries in the localities of the Republic of Moldova, reports IPN.
Books can be brought daily, from Monday to Friday, between 12:00 PM –05:00 PM, to the Government House, entrance from Mitropolit Gavriil Banulescu-Bodoni street. The action will continue until December 24th.
At the same time, the exhibition of illustrations “My EU Christmas at home” was inaugurated in the Government House, launched by the European Integration Office, which includes 58 works created by children and artists from various regions of the country. The exhibition can be visited until January 7th.
In the previous edition of the “Library under the Fir Tree” campaign, over 9,000 books for children of all ages were collected. The volumes were distributed in child placement centers, as well as in hospitals across the country that have arranged spaces for young readers.
A year earlier, the over 5,500 books placed under the tree were distributed to 50 school libraries.
