The first hundred kilometers of the Vulcanesti-Chisinau power line have been energized for testing. According to the Ministry of Energy, the technical team of Moldelectrica has completed the necessary checks for the activation of the first section, which will remain monitored before moving on to the next stages of the project, reports IPN.
The acting Minister of Energy, Dorin Junghietu, specified that the works are part of the testing program for each component of the project. The process will be completed once the entire system, consisting of the Vulcanesti Power Station, the Vulcanesti-Chisinau Power Line, and the Chisinau Power Station, is energized.
“We are making progress every day with the tests for the commissioning of the energy independence line,” the official further stated.
According to the authorities, the LEA Vulcanesti-Chisinau will contribute to strengthening the energy security of the Republic of Moldova by facilitating the transportation of electrical energy from the interconnection with the European energy system. Construction work began in April 2024.
