The Constitutional Court is examining today the notification of the Central Electoral Commission regarding the confirmation of the parliamentary election results from September 28 and the validation of the deputy mandates, reports IPN.

The Central Electoral Commission has centralized the results of the October 5th poll, noting a voter turnout of 52.24%, equivalent to 1,609,579 voters. The number of valid votes cast was 1,578,722.

In addition to confirming the results, the Court is set to validate the mandates of the five electoral competitors who have crossed the electoral threshold.

Following the scrutiny, the Action and Solidarity Party (792,557 votes) will hold 55 seats, the Patriotic Electoral Bloc (381,984 votes) – 26 seats, the Alternative Electoral Bloc (125,706 votes) – 8 seats, the Our Party Political Party (97,852 votes) and the Home Democracy Political Party (88,679 votes) will each have 6 seats.

The Constitutional Court session is set to begin at 10:00. After examination and pronouncement of the decision, the President of the Constitutional Court, Domnica Manole, will hold a press briefing.

The National Agency for Energy Regulation will examine on Friday the request from Energocom regarding the increase in natural gas prices. The subject was included on the agenda of the ANRE meeting on July 24, reports IPN.

Energocom has requested an increase in the regulated price for consumers connected to low-pressure distribution networks from 13.35 lei to 19.37 lei per cubic meter, excluding VAT.

The request is motivated by the increase in natural gas procurement costs, against the backdrop of geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and the volatility of international markets. According to Energocom, these have generated an estimated tariff deficit of around 106 million lei.
