Citizens of the Republic of Moldova are urged to avoid any non-essential travel to the Middle East, due to the deterioration of the security situation in the region. At the same time, those who are already in the affected states are advised to exercise maximum caution, to follow the recommendations of local authorities and to strictly adhere to the instructions issued in emergency situations, reports IPN.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommends that citizens inform themselves exclusively from official sources regarding the evolution of the security situation and maintain contact with the diplomatic missions of Moldova in the countries where they are located.

According to the MFA, several states in the region have restrictions on the use of airspace, which may affect the schedule of flights. In this context, citizens should periodically check the status of flights with airlines or travel agencies and consider alternative routes only if they do not involve additional security risks.

For consular assistance, citizens can contact the embassies of the Republic of Moldova in Israel, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Turkey and Azerbaijan, the latter being also accredited for the Islamic Republic of Iran. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs specifies that it continues to monitor developments in the Middle East and will inform the public in case of new relevant developments.

The National Agency for Energy Regulation will examine on Friday the request from Energocom regarding the increase in natural gas prices. The subject was included on the agenda of the ANRE meeting on July 24, reports IPN.

Energocom has requested an increase in the regulated price for consumers connected to low-pressure distribution networks from 13.35 lei to 19.37 lei per cubic meter, excluding VAT.

The request is motivated by the increase in natural gas procurement costs, against the backdrop of geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and the volatility of international markets. According to Energocom, these have generated an estimated tariff deficit of around 106 million lei.
