Two women from Ukraine, refugees in Moldova, were arrested in Chisinau in a drug trafficking case. The seizure is estimated at 20 million lei, reports IPN.
According to the Prosecutor’s Office for Combating Organized Crime and Special Cases, the women would have received the drugs through smuggling parcels. In total, investigators seized 19 kg of heroin, alpha-PVP (“salt”), mephedrone, methadone, ketamine, amphetamine, and cocaine. They also found 600 ecstasy pills.
The suspects, aged 30 and 33, carried the packages to a rented apartment in Chisinau. There, the drugs were divided into smaller doses and put up for sale online, through the Telegram app.
The women have been detained. They risk up to 15 years in prison.
