Romania remains the most constant and strongest supporter of the Republic of Moldova, declared Mircea Abrudean, the President of the Romanian Senate, during the meeting with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova, Alexandru Munteanu, who is in Bucharest, reports IPN.
“We will continue to stand by Chisinau at every stage of European integration, because the European future of the Republic of Moldova is also our common future,” mentioned Mircea Abrudean.
The discussions of the two officials focused on bilateral cooperation, Romania’s support for the European path of the Republic of Moldova, as well as joint projects in the economic, energy and security sectors.
“The fact that the Prime Minister’s first official visit takes place in Romania is proof of the solid partnership between states. Today’s discussion was warm and friendly, as are always the dialogues between Bucharest and Chisinau,” added Mircea Abrudean.
Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu had another meeting with the President of the Chamber of Deputies, Sorin Grindeanu. During the discussions, the official from Chisinau reiterated the importance of the inter-state strategic partnership and Romania’s support for Moldova’s approach to the EU.
“Romania is the most trusted friend of the Republic of Moldova on the European path. For us, the priority is to bring more prosperity and security to the citizens on both banks of the Prut,” declared Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu.
The visit to Bucharest was the first official foreign visit of Alexandru Munteanu since taking office as Prime Minister. In the first part of the day, the Prime Minister met with his counterpart Ilie Bolojan and with the President of Romania, Nicușor Dan.
