“A series of renovation works have been carried out at the public library “Ion Druță” in Dondușeni district. The thermal insulation of the roof was done with the support of the International Organization for Migration (IOM), reports IPN.”
In order to reduce energy consumption and utility costs, the roof and exterior facades have been thermally insulated.
The local authorities of Dondușeni state that, due to the ongoing works, the library has improved its capacity to provide the community with a warmer and more energy-efficient environment.
“The head of the IOM mission in Moldova, Ester Ruiz de Azua, mentioned that this intervention aims to promote inclusion and create safe spaces where migrants, refugees, and Moldovans can coexist.”
“In 2023, IOM conducted a technical evaluation of the “Ion Druță” library, as part of a comprehensive initiative to support the inclusion of migrants and refugees in Moldova.”
“The public institution supports around 1500 people and coordinates 21 smaller libraries throughout the Dondușeni district.”
