Members of the parliamentary faction of the Political Party ‘Our Party’ argue that the gas tariff should have been reduced to 13.8 lei per cubic meter as early as December, and not kept at the current level of 16.74 lei, reports IPN.
Deputy Constantin Cuiumju stated in a press briefing that, due to the lack of detailed official information regarding the gas purchase price, transportation, storage, and other costs – previously requested from the supplier and received in an evasive form – he made his own calculations. According to him, the average gas price on the European market for 2025 would have been approximately 33.5 euro/MWh, to which additional costs were added.
The deputy claims that the final price without VAT would have been 12.78 lei, and with an 8% VAT – 13.8 lei per cubic meter. Constantin Cuiumju also said that the regulatory authority can review the price even for 1% variations in the supplier’s revenue, therefore he finds it inexplicable that the adjustment was not made since December.
The Political Party “Our Party” demands transparency in the process of setting gas prices and believes that the current rate does not reflect the existing public data.
On Friday morning, Energocom proposed a tariff of 15 lei and 25 bani for gas consumption, a decrease of about 1.5 lei compared to the current one. The supplier has submitted the request for adjustment and approval of regulated tariffs to ANRE, as part of its public service obligation.
