Moldova Pride 2026: the traditional march will take place on June 21

The Moldova Pride Festival 2026 will be launched on June 14 and will run for a week. One of the events is the traditional march, which will bear the name Chisinau Pride starting this year and which the organizers have announced will take place on June 21.

Representatives of the LGBTQI+ Moldova Platform announced, in a conference at IPN, that the 25th edition of the festival will begin with the launch of the Moldova Pride 2026 spot, built around the message “Love creates, the law protects”, and several events will be held over the course of a week. The organizers announced that the central theme of this year’s edition is “The right to legal recognition of same-sex relationships”.

The Executive Director of the GENDERDOC-M Information Center, Angelica Frolov, urged supporters and community members to participate in events without fear, emphasizing that the law is one for all, and no public official can prohibit a fundamental right because of personal political views.

Another key event is the Eastern European Coalition Conference, which will take place on June 19th. This will bring together experts, activists, and organizations from Moldova, Ukraine, Armenia and Georgia for discussions on the rights of the LGBT community. The organizers note that the main objective is to improve the situation of LGBT people and inform international partners about the ongoing challenges faced by the community in these countries.

The Chisinau Pride March is scheduled for June 21, at 12:00 PM. The demonstrators will start from the intersection of Bucuresti and Ismail streets. The organizers mentioned that the event was renamed this year to emphasize that public space belongs to everyone. They pointed out that the march represents a manifesto for the freedom of assembly, which cannot be conditioned by political views or administrative decisions. The organizers assure that the march will be a peaceful demonstration, and the security of the participants will be guaranteed by law enforcement, according to the legislation.

The National Agency for Energy Regulation will examine on Friday the request from Energocom regarding the increase in natural gas prices. The subject was included on the agenda of the ANRE meeting on July 24, reports IPN.

Energocom has requested an increase in the regulated price for consumers connected to low-pressure distribution networks from 13.35 lei to 19.37 lei per cubic meter, excluding VAT.

The request is motivated by the increase in natural gas procurement costs, against the backdrop of geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and the volatility of international markets. According to Energocom, these have generated an estimated tariff deficit of around 106 million lei.
