Moldova is at a young age and has ambitions to fulfill the greatest dreams. IPN series

On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the declaration of Moldova’s Independence, IPN News Agency decided to depict the portrait of the current Republic of Moldova. For the purpose, it provoked a number of people, including state officials, politicians, businessmen, civil rights activists and persons without posts and titles, but who have what to say. The generic picture is called “Thoughts about and for Moldova”.

Valeria Seican, Doctor of Art Studies: “The Republic of Moldova is at a young age, with ambitions to fulfill the greatest, most complex, purest and brilliant dreams, with will, courage, determination, patience, consistency and profound spirit of personal sacrifice for the common good”.

On the 25th anniversary of its Independence, Valeria Seican sees Moldova as a Bessarabian young man or woman aged 25, with a superb future because he/she has the genetic memory of the bravest people in the history of mankind: starting with the most courageous Trac Spartacus and continuing with Burebista, Stephan the Great, Gavriil Banulescu-Bodoni, Dimitrie Cantemir, Mihai Eminescu, Maria Cibotari, who are personalities who marked the course of universal history by the own example, talent and professionalism.

“The prophesied prospect is superb. The internal capacities of the potential professional are ready to proficiently deal with any challenge and needs only encouragement to advance on the part of more experienced and friendlier partners,” said Valeria Seican. According to her, Independence can be compared with a flight. The more professional, prepared, smeared with all kinds of ointments, healthy mentally and physically, motivated and romantic we are, the more successful the piloted ship and the dexterity of piloting for exploring the universe will be.

Valeria Seican considers the man is the only one who is responsible for the evolution of all the processes in his life. Responsibility and conscious assumption of risks that massively intervened in the life of the Moldovan, together with the new status of his county, ‘sculptured’ much harsher in the professional characteristics. The unlimited opportunities for improvement and development that came together with the Independence, being assimilated consistently, made it possible for the Republic of Moldova to be appreciated and applauded in Rome, London, Paris, Moscow, and Berlin. I speak about trophies that recognize managerial excellence dedicated to Moldova’s culture; scientific communications at prestigious international forums that discovered new, unique, cult and civilized images of Moldova’s accomplishments, etc.

If a foreigner asked her why she chose Moldova as a home, Valeria Seican would invite this to come with his open soul and clean heart to Moldova to know and love it as it was built by destiny and by God. “It is a ‘magic formula’ that works every time I apply it, during many years already, being now a member of the International Parliament for Safety and Peace, which brings together hundreds of remarkable personalities from all over the world. There was no person not to remain professionally or emotionally attached to Moldova when grasping the miracle of our spirit that is national in essence and international by aspirations. Moldova is a blessed and prolific land for friends,” she stated.

The one who heard a doina (Moldovan lyrical song – e.n.) , who felt the smell of basil, who vibrated with joy when hearing the vesper bell, who has in the soul a germ of love planted with affection in Bessarabia is the current Moldovan depicted by Valeria Seican.

In connection with the new challenge with which we must cope - the presidential elections - Valeria Seican presented a quotation from Confucius as a wish and call for exemplary governance: “All those who govern empires and kingdoms must respect nine invariable rules, namely: self-correction or self-improvement; veneration of the wise; the parents’ love; honoring of the top state functionaries or ministers; perfect harmony with all the other functionaries or magistrates; to treat and love the people as a son; to attract all the wise and the artists around yourself; to meet with pleasure the people who come from far away, and to treat friendly all the great vassals”.

Valeria Seican was first deputy minister of culture in 2002-2005. In December 2009, she was named as manager of the National Opera House “Maria Biesu”. In 2013, she was appointed as adviser to Minister of Culture Monica Babuc. She is a Doctor of Art Studies, university lecturer and a member of the International Parliament for Safety and Peace.
