Low salaries and pensions, as well as excessively high prices, are among the main concerns of Moldovans. This data is found in the IMAS socio-political Barometer – June 2026. According to the survey, these financial difficulties are reported by over 47% of citizens, reports IPN.

According to the data, low salaries and pensions were mentioned by 34.7% of respondents, followed by difficulties such as lack of jobs – 16.4%, and too high prices – 12.9%. Other problems mentioned include low living standards – 12.1%, lack of trust in governance – 10.5%, and corruption with 7.9%.

The perception of the economic situation remains cautious. The majority of respondents, 39%, expressed dissatisfaction with the current state of the economy, while only 7% said they are largely satisfied. Additionally, 86% of Moldovans believe that the country is currently going through an economic crisis.

Price increases are felt by the majority of the population. According to the barometer, 84% of respondents say that the prices of goods and services have increased in the last 12 months, and 45% of them believe that prices have increased significantly. At the same time, over half of the survey participants expect prices to continue to rise in the next year.

The survey also shows that the financial situation of households has worsened for 36% of respondents in the last year, while 18% say it has improved.
