Interim president of Strășeni Court caught with unjustified assets of 622,000 lei

The National Integrity Authority (NIA) identified an unjustified fortune of over 622,000 lei in the case of the interim president of the Strășeni Court Sergiu Osoianu and his family members. This results from the substantial difference between the acquired wealth, the obtained income and the expenses incurred in 2018-2021, IPN reports.

The NIA examined Osoianu’s property following a journalistic investigation. In the most recent declaration of assets and personal interests, the judge indicated a plot of land and a house the value of which generated suspicions as to the existence of a substantial discrepancy between the declared income and the expenses incurred by the person concerned.

The integrity inspector will send the case to court which is to order the confiscation of the unjustified property. If the court accepts the NIA’s request, the employment contract with Sergiu Osoianu will be terminated. He will not be able to hold a public post for a period of three years.

The NIA’s finding is not yet final and can be challenged.

The National Agency for Energy Regulation will examine on Friday the request from Energocom regarding the increase in natural gas prices. The subject was included on the agenda of the ANRE meeting on July 24, reports IPN.

Energocom has requested an increase in the regulated price for consumers connected to low-pressure distribution networks from 13.35 lei to 19.37 lei per cubic meter, excluding VAT.

The request is motivated by the increase in natural gas procurement costs, against the backdrop of geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and the volatility of international markets. According to Energocom, these have generated an estimated tariff deficit of around 106 million lei.
