Fragments labeled “Geran-4”, electronic components, and a turbojet engine were discovered following the explosion of a drone that fell on Wednesday evening in the outskirts of Ivancea village, Orhei district. According to the General Inspectorate of Police, the debris scattered over a radius of about 120 meters, reports IPN.

The experts from the Technical-Explosive Section of the Police have completed the on-site investigation overnight. Preliminarily, the explosion occurred after the aircraft hit the trees in the forest strip located near the G72 road, about ten meters from the roadway. On the ground, a crater with a diameter of approximately 50 centimeters and a depth of about 30 centimeters was identified.

Also, within a radius of about 30 meters, the trees were affected by the blast wave. At the same time, two other craters, with diameters of approximately 50 and 30 centimeters, were found on the edge of the roadway, about 15 meters from the main site of the explosion. Among the recovered fragments are components of the wings, marked with the inscription “Geran 4”, electronic blocks, and elements of the propulsion system, including a turbojet engine with traces of thermal effect.

The drone made an unauthorized flight through the airspace of the Republic of Moldova on Wednesday evening. According to the Ministry of Defense, the aircraft crossed the border at 8:45 PM, coming from the direction of Shershentsi in Ukraine’s Vinnytsia region and heading toward the vicinity of Slobozia Rascov, in the Transnistrian sector. It subsequently flew toward Tipova (Rezina District); near the village of Branesti (Orhei District), it disappeared from monitoring systems and later exploded near the road connecting Branesti and Ivancea.

This was the third unauthorized flyover reported on Wednesday. A drone fell and exploded in the outskirts of Harbovat, damaging a telecommunications antenna. The fragments of the device were found within a radius of approximately 265 meters. Subsequently, another jet drone, moving at a speed of over 400 kilometers per hour, crossed the airspace of the Republic of Moldova through the Transnistrian region, heading towards Soroca.

The police urge citizens not to approach any unknown objects or fragments and to immediately call the Emergency Service 112.

The former director of Moldatsa, Dumitru Vangheli, who allegedly left the Republic of Moldova at the end of June, before the CNA searches at the company, has contacted the parliamentary investigation commission regarding the activity of state enterprises. The chairman of the commission, deputy Dinu Plingau, says that Vangheli has requested a discussion and that he is waiting for him to personally participate in the public hearings of the commission, reports IPN.

“While the Prosecutor’s Office and the CNA are looking for Mr. Vangheli from Moldatsa, I inform you that we have found him. More precisely, he found us and requested a discussion with the chairman of the Investigation Commission. We publicly inform that we eagerly await him at the public hearings, with physical presence. I remain open to receive him at any day and at any time in the audience”, Dinu Plingau wrote on social networks.

When asked by IPN to specify the stage of the investigation, the representatives of the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office stated that the institution, together with the CNA, is taking all necessary procedural measures to advance the criminal case.

Dumitru Vangheli was dismissed as director of Moldatsa following the emergence of disputed information regarding details in his job application dossier—including an alleged pilot’s license obtained in Canada and professional experience at Air Canada.

On June 30, the National Anti-Corruption Center, under the procedural supervision of the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office, conducted searches at Moldatsa in connection with a criminal case involving alleged abuse of office under aggravating circumstances. IPN subsequently reported, citing two sources, that Dumitru Vangheli had left the Republic of Moldova on June 28 via a border crossing point with Romania, traveling as a passenger in a car driven by a Romanian citizen.

Amid the scandal, substantial payments to Moldatsa employees also came to light. According to data subsequently presented to the parliamentary committee, around 40 employees reportedly received salaries exceeding the prescribed maximum limit; the company explained that the discrepancies stemmed from monthly bonuses.
