“Flower Bridge” Festival to be held in Ungheni on April 26

The “Flower Bridge” Festival will be staged in Ungheni on April 26. At the same time, the works to build the bridge over the Prut, symbolically called the “Flower Bridge”, in memory of the historical event that happened 35 years ago, will begin, IPN reports.

According to the Secretary of State of the Romanian Ministry of Transport Irinel Ionel Scrioșteanu, the purpose of this festival is to remember and relive the emotions of the moment of 1990, when Romanians from both banks of the Prut River threw flowers on its water, forming a bridge of flowers as a sign of brotherhood.

The festival will start at 11:00 a.m. and will last until 09:00 p.m., with concerts by renowned artists from both banks of the Prut, such as “Lupii lui Calancea”, Valy Boghean Band, Antonia, Osoianu Sisters, Cristi Aldea Teodorovici, “Fluieras” Ensemble, Adriana Ochisanu, Cornelia Stefanet, “Doina Ilfov” Ensemble.

There will also be an air show and skydiving demonstrations organized by Romania’s “Aeroclub” and also traditional craft workshops, a gastronomic area, a photographic exhibition and creative workshops for children.

At the beginning of this month, Romania issued the necessary authorization for the construction of the first road bridge at highway level over the Prut, the Flower Bridge over the Prut in Ungheni, Golaiesti – Zagarancea, after about 60 years since the last bridge was built.

The National Agency for Energy Regulation will examine on Friday the request from Energocom regarding the increase in natural gas prices. The subject was included on the agenda of the ANRE meeting on July 24, reports IPN.

Energocom has requested an increase in the regulated price for consumers connected to low-pressure distribution networks from 13.35 lei to 19.37 lei per cubic meter, excluding VAT.

The request is motivated by the increase in natural gas procurement costs, against the backdrop of geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and the volatility of international markets. According to Energocom, these have generated an estimated tariff deficit of around 106 million lei.
