Driver of minibus taking party supporters to Orhei illegally tries to bribe police

A minibus that was transporting supporters of a political party to events in Orhei was stopped by the police. The patrol officers established that the driver didn’t have a number of mandatory documents, IPN reports.

The General Police Inspectorate said the 61-year-old driver offered bribe to the police officers for being allowed to continue his way without the necessary documents. “Even if he was warned about criminal liability for bribing a state employee, the driver left the money in the right front door of the police car,” said the Inspectorate.

A police team was called out. The investigation of the case goes on.

The National Agency for Energy Regulation will examine on Friday the request from Energocom regarding the increase in natural gas prices. The subject was included on the agenda of the ANRE meeting on July 24, reports IPN.

Energocom has requested an increase in the regulated price for consumers connected to low-pressure distribution networks from 13.35 lei to 19.37 lei per cubic meter, excluding VAT.

The request is motivated by the increase in natural gas procurement costs, against the backdrop of geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and the volatility of international markets. According to Energocom, these have generated an estimated tariff deficit of around 106 million lei.
