Research on Christmas is on display at the National Library of the Republic of Moldova until January 15, as part of an exhibition that highlights authentic Romanian traditions and customs related to winter holidays, reports IPN.
The exhibition, entitled “Today Christ was born: Christmas ethno-folklore customs”, includes approximately 90 documents, books, collections of carols, illustrated albums and objects with Christmas themes. These provide a detailed reconstruction of the customs, traditions, and beliefs related to the Birth of the Lord, passed down through generations.
The exhibition also includes a section dedicated to Christmas music, titled The Symphony of Christmas, where visitors can listen to carols and traditional or contemporary songs on vinyl records and CDs, performed by artists such as Bob Dylan, Elvis Presley or Mariah Carey.
