The Moldovan Railway has tested the new route Chisinau – Revaca – Sangera, which establishes the railway connection with the Chisinau International Airport “Eugen Doga”. According to the company, the journey was made with a modernized diesel train, prepared by the specialists of the Chisinau Depot, reports IPN.

CFM specifies that the condition of the railway has been evaluated and the possibility of allowing train traffic at a higher speed. The discussions also addressed the arrangement of passenger platforms, as well as the improvement works of the infrastructure related to the route.

The company mentions that testing is part of the process of assessing the technical condition of the railway infrastructure and determining the necessary measures for the safe operation of trains on the new route.

According to the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development, the Revaca station, located near the airport, could be connected to the terminal through a bus transfer service. The authorities estimate that the journey from the Chisinau railway station to the airport will take approximately 15 minutes.

Update: The police report that an unmanned aerial vehicle has been located, it crashed and exploded in a field between the localities of Codrenii Noi and Scaieni, in the Donduseni district. Police officers are on-site, examining the area and establishing the full circumstances of the incident. Preliminarily, no casualties have been reported. Specialists from the Police’s Technical-Explosive Unit are set to examine the wreckage and determine the type of aircraft. Citizens are urged to avoid the area, and not to approach or touch any discovered fragments. Should any suspicious objects be found, the 112 emergency service must be contacted immediately.

Original news: The Ministry of Defense reports that a drone crashed and exploded in a field outside the locality of Codrenii Noi, in the direction of the village of Scaieni, in the Donduseni District. The circumstances of the incident are currently being determined.

A suspected unauthorized flight into the airspace of the Republic of Moldova was reported in the area of Sobari village, in the Soroca District. This information was provided by the Ministry of Defense. According to the institution, the National Army’s Air Operations Center reported a suspected incident at 04:22 PM, IPN reports.

According to the Ministry of Defense, between October 10-16, 2026, there were seven incidents of violation of the airspace of the Republic of Moldova, one of which targeted the crash of an explosive drone in the locality of Geamana, Anenii Noi district. The other six involved unauthorized overflight of the national airspace by military aircraft, according to the Ministry of Defense. Since the beginning of the year, there have been 63 such incidents, 15 of which occurred in October. From 2022 to the present, the total number has reached 100.
