Carolina Novac and Constantin Borosan, both State Secretaries at the Ministry of Energy, have been appointed by the Government as members of the Moldovagaz Supervisory Board. The decision was approved at the General Meeting of Shareholders of Moldovagaz. Additionally, four representatives from Gazprom were also appointed to the Supervisory Board, announces the Public Property Agency in a press release, reports IPN.

At the Ministry of Energy, Carolina Novac is responsible for the field of decarbonization, including the promotion of renewable energy and energy efficiency. At the end of May 2024, Carolina Novac was appointed Vice-Chair of the Supervisory Board at Moldovagaz.

Constantin Borosan is responsible for the areas of natural gas, electricity, thermal energy, cogeneration, and petroleum products. He also served as a member of the Moldovagaz Supervisory Board during the 2023-2024 period.

According to the Public Property Agency (APP), the meeting agenda included 11 items for discussion, of which only three were supported by the state representative and approved by the majority of participants. These concerned the appointment of new members to the Moldovagaz Supervisory Board, the election of a member of the Audit Committee, and the selection of an auditor by September 1, 2025, for the mandatory audit of the financial statements for the current year.

The Public Property Agency (APP) states that for the other items, the state representative voted against them “on the grounds that the Moldovan side, in accordance with its commitments, is in the process of finalizing an independent audit of the accumulated debts, which form the basis of the documents submitted for voting.” In the absence of the results of this audit, APP considers the approval of Moldovagaz’s reports containing outdated data to be unacceptable.

The Republic of Moldova holds 35.33% of the total voting shares (share capital), which grants it the right to two seats out of six on the Supervisory Board.
