Food product prices will continue to decline in the first quarters of the year. Regulated tariffs will also register a significant decrease. Fuel prices will start with negative values, gradually increasing towards the end of the forecast period. The data is presented in the inflation report, published by the National Bank of Moldova, reports IPN.
According to the BNM, the annual inflation rate is declining at the beginning of the year and returns within the variation range of the target set by the central bank. Subsequently, inflation will stabilize, with moderate fluctuations, and from 2027 a slight increase is estimated.
Developments are influenced by geopolitical uncertainties, the dynamics of European economies, and fluctuations in energy markets. The BNM warns that regional tensions and international trade policies may generate additional risks for the forecast.
The aggregate demand will remain below potential for almost the entire forecast period, against the backdrop of restrictive monetary conditions, which will contribute to tempering inflationary pressures.
