An 18-meter long cherry pie has been declared a national record at the national exhibition “Domestic Product 2026”, second edition. The dish was prepared by eight member companies of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Moldova, reports IPN.
The President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Moldova, Sergiu Harea, stated that the pie represents a symbol of Moldovan traditions and gastronomy, but also of the collaboration between local producers. “It is a symbol of our traditions, gastronomy, and hospitality, but also of the power to grow together. We thank all our partners and those who support local producers. And we are convinced that this is not our last record!” mentioned Sergiu Harea.
Present at the event, the President of the Parliament, Igor Grosu, appreciated the work of the local manufacturers, emphasizing the authenticity and taste of the local products. He also noted the talent, work, and passion invested by them in what they do.
The Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry, Eugeniu Osmochescu, has urged consumers to support domestic production. “We must be proud of what we have at home and of the people who put quality products on our table – farmers and producers from the entire agri-food sector,” the official mentioned.
The event continued with the National Pie Festival, tastings, and culinary demonstrations. At the same time, the “Top Wineries 2026” gala took place, dedicated to the local wine producers.
The national exhibition “Domestic Product”, organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Moldova, is taking place at Moldexpo and is open until Sunday evening.
