Adverse weather conditions have severely affected traffic in several regions of the country, where ambulances and dozens of vehicles have been stranded on roads due to ice and snow. In the last 24 hours, IGSU rescuers and firefighters intervened in almost 90 cases, over 30 of these involving the unblocking and towing of vehicles, reports IPN.

According to the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, in the town of Hasnasenii Mari in the Drochia district, rescuers had the task of unblocking an ambulance that was heading towards a patient and had skidded off the road due to ice. Another ambulance, with a patient, was towed by rescuers in the town of Susleni, Orhei district.

In Ialoveni, several transportation units, including two buses, a truck, and four vehicles, needed support to continue their journey. In Drochia, in the locality of Nicoreni, rescuers unlocked 10 cars, while another three vehicles were towed in the locality of Zaicani, Rascani district.

Similar interventions took place in the districts of Glodeni, Sangerei, Ocnita, Edinet, as well as in the municipality of Chisinau. As a result of the risk situations, no person suffered.

Rescuers urge the population to exercise maximum responsibility. In case of risk situations, individuals are asked to call the 112 Service.

The National Agency for Energy Regulation will examine on Friday the request from Energocom regarding the increase in natural gas prices. The subject was included on the agenda of the ANRE meeting on July 24, reports IPN.

Energocom has requested an increase in the regulated price for consumers connected to low-pressure distribution networks from 13.35 lei to 19.37 lei per cubic meter, excluding VAT.

The request is motivated by the increase in natural gas procurement costs, against the backdrop of geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and the volatility of international markets. According to Energocom, these have generated an estimated tariff deficit of around 106 million lei.
