Almost 6 thousand consumers from 11 localities in the Causeni, Anenii Noi, Cahul, Taraclia, Leova and Vulcanesti districts are temporarily without electricity, according to operational data as of 05:00 PM. According to Premier Energy Distribution, the most difficult situation is in the Vulcanesti district, where the access of teams is hindered by snow-covered roads, reports IPN.
Premier Energy specifies that, throughout the day, several localities have been reconnected, however, the blizzard and strong gusts of wind have caused new damages in other areas. In Vulcanesti, teams are inspecting the power lines on foot, through open fields, due to limited access.
The operator specifies that numerous cases of conductor breakages have been recorded, and some portions of the network have been deliberately disconnected for safety, until the faults are rectified.
In the context of precipitation and strong winds, the population is warned to be cautious of fallen or hanging electrical cables from pylons. Dangerous situations should be reported immediately to Premier Energy Distribution, at the number 022 43 11 11, or to RED Nord, at +373 231 24 201.
An orange code in the south and a yellow code in the center of the country have been issued by the State Hydrometeorological Service, with a warning of heavy snowfall and strong wind, until Wednesday evening, at 08:00 PM.
