The General Directorate of Housing and Urban Planning will look for solutions to set up a playground for children and a sports field for adults in the “Nicolae Dimo” square in the capital. The initiative comes after the square was repeatedly vandalized, IPN reports.
According to the DGLCA, solutions will be identified in restricted terms so that work can start as soon as possible.
At the same time, representatives of Chisinau City Hall, together with local residents, with the support of the General Directorate for Housing and Landscaping and the workers of the “Association of Green Spaces Management”, will plant 50 trees in the square on Tuesday, May 13.
The decision was made after several acts of vandalism in Dimo Square. All the trees were cut down, and a thuja alley, after three years, suddenly “dried up” in just one week. At the same time, the city hall informs that an illegal attempt was made to build a residential block in that area.
