Modernized sanitary groups in four schools through a project implemented by Caritas Czech with European funding

Rehabilitation and modernization works of the sanitation infrastructure will be carried out this year in four schools across the country. The works will include the renovation of sanitary groups, including one for people with disabilities, and the modernization of sewerage systems, reports IPN.

The investments, estimated at about one million lei for each institution, are made within a partnership between the Ministry of Education and Research and Caritas Czech Republic – Chisinau Branch, and are funded by European funds. The works will be carried out at Gymnasium No. 68 from Dobrogea village, Sangera city, “Alexei Mateevici” Theoretical High School from Cainari city, Causeni district, “Alexandr Pushkin” Gymnasium from Cimislia city and Raciula Gymnasium from Calarasi district.

According to the data presented by the MEC at the end of last year, 80 educational institutions in the country only had outdoor sanitary blocks. Technical projects have been developed for most of them, however, in some schools, the arrangement of indoor sanitary groups is not possible due to the lack of sewage.

According to the latest available public data, approximately half of the schools in the country still maintain outdoor sanitary groups, even though they have sanitary blocks inside. At the same time, many of the indoor sanitary groups already need repairs.

Traffic on Minsk Street in the capital will be suspended from July 20-24. The restrictions target the section between Hanul Morii and Cetatea Alba streets, in the Botanica sector. To reach the area, drivers will be able to use Tașkent Street, reports IPN.

The measure was established based on a provision of the City Hall of Chisinau and is necessary for the execution of connection works to the water supply and sewerage networks on Tallin Street, 21.

During the interventions, temporary road signs and protective barriers will be installed in the area. After the completion of the works, the road surface will be restored.

The General Inspectorate of Police recommends drivers to drive cautiously, to respect temporary road signs and to choose alternative routes to avoid traffic jams and delays.
