The USA supports Moldova’s energy security: discussions at the Government with American senators

The support provided by the United States of America significantly contributes to the development of the Republic of Moldova, particularly in strengthening the country’s energy security. The statements were made by Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu, who received American Senators Jeanne Shaheen and Chris Coons at the Government on Tuesday, reports IPN.

The head of the cabinet of ministers particularly highlighted the initiatives in the energy sector, mentioning the American support amounting to 130 million dollars for the construction of the Straseni-Gutinas electric power transmission line.

The Prime Minister emphasized that the Government’s priorities aim at advancing the processes of European integration, which involve reforms oriented towards economic growth, enhancing security and maintaining peace, and the support of external partners is essential for achieving these objectives.

In turn, American senators have appreciated the progress made by the Republic of Moldova in strengthening energy independence, enhancing resilience, and consolidating state institutions, according to a press release from the Government.



Traffic on Minsk Street in the capital will be suspended from July 20-24. The restrictions target the section between Hanul Morii and Cetatea Alba streets, in the Botanica sector. To reach the area, drivers will be able to use Tașkent Street, reports IPN.

The measure was established based on a provision of the City Hall of Chisinau and is necessary for the execution of connection works to the water supply and sewerage networks on Tallin Street, 21.

During the interventions, temporary road signs and protective barriers will be installed in the area. After the completion of the works, the road surface will be restored.

The General Inspectorate of Police recommends drivers to drive cautiously, to respect temporary road signs and to choose alternative routes to avoid traffic jams and delays.
