Adverse weather conditions have severely affected traffic in several regions of the country, where ambulances and dozens of vehicles have been stranded on roads due to ice and snow. In the last 24 hours, IGSU rescuers and firefighters intervened in almost 90 cases, over 30 of these involving the unblocking and towing of vehicles, reports IPN.

According to the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, in the town of Hasnasenii Mari in the Drochia district, rescuers had the task of unblocking an ambulance that was heading towards a patient and had skidded off the road due to ice. Another ambulance, with a patient, was towed by rescuers in the town of Susleni, Orhei district.

In Ialoveni, several transportation units, including two buses, a truck, and four vehicles, needed support to continue their journey. In Drochia, in the locality of Nicoreni, rescuers unlocked 10 cars, while another three vehicles were towed in the locality of Zaicani, Rascani district.

Similar interventions took place in the districts of Glodeni, Sangerei, Ocnita, Edinet, as well as in the municipality of Chisinau. As a result of the risk situations, no person suffered.

Rescuers urge the population to exercise maximum responsibility. In case of risk situations, individuals are asked to call the 112 Service.



The men’s national football team of the Republic of Moldova maintains its position in the FIFA ranking, occupying the 159th place, with 1008.24 points. At the same time, the women’s team has climbed 14 positions to the 119th place, reports IPN.

At the top of the men’s ranking is the new world champion – Spain – with 1995.88 points, followed by Argentina and France. England occupies the fourth position.

According to the Moldovan Football Federation, the team prepared by Lilian Popescu, will compete in the upcoming matches in the Nations League. The “tricolor” group’s opponents are Slovakia, ranked 45th, Kazakhstan, ranked 111th, and the Faroe Islands, ranked 123rd in the world rankings.

At the same time, in the global women’s ranking, Spain remains in first place, while the Republic of Moldova has recorded the most significant progression in the hierarchy, advancing 14 positions to the 119th place, with 1137.64 points.

The best ranking in the history of the men’s national team is 37th place, achieved in April 2008, while the women’s team reached their best performance in 2017, when they ranked 81st in the FIFA hierarchy.
