A 45-year-old Moldovan, who suffered multiple injuries in a car accident, was airlifted to Chisinau on Monday, as part of a new SMURD intervention in the Republic of Moldova, reports IPN.
According to the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, the man was picked up from Iași and safely transported to Chisinau. Throughout the flight, he was continuously monitored by SMURD doctors and paramedics.
The helicopter landed on the Dinamo stadium in the afternoon of October 20, from where the patient was taken over by the Aviasan medical team and transported to the Institute of Emergency Medicine.
This is the second SMURD air-medical mission for the citizens of the Republic of Moldova, since the beginning of this year.
Founded in Romania in the ’90s by Dr. Raed Arafat, the Mobile Emergency Service for Resuscitation and Extrication (SMURD) has been operating in the Republic of Moldova since 2014.
