Eleven candidates were admitted to the interview for the position of member of the Board of Directors of the state enterprise “Moldelectrica”. The selection commission set up by the Energy Ministry has completed the evaluation of the submitted applications, IPN reports.

The competition, launched in March this year, aims to select four board members who do not represent public administration authorities or the company itself.

At the evaluation stage, the selection board admitted 12 applications submitted by candidates. One candidate was subsequently declared inadmissible and excluded from the competition.

The list of candidates admitted to the interview includes the following persons: Victor Melniceanu, Sergiu Ungureanu, Claudiu Rosca, Corina Popescu, Eugen Ghilețchi, Bogdan Toncescu, Sergiu Dimitriev, Petru Pasincovschi, Oleg Stiopca, Roman Stavila and Natalia Timofte.

Interviews will take place on May 8.

“Moldelectrica”, as the operator of the electricity transmission system in the Republic of Moldova, plays a strategic role in the country’s energy security, ensuring the permanent balance between electricity production and consumption and facilitating interconnection with European grids.

The National Agency for Energy Regulation will examine on Friday the request from Energocom regarding the increase in natural gas prices. The subject was included on the agenda of the ANRE meeting on July 24, reports IPN.

Energocom has requested an increase in the regulated price for consumers connected to low-pressure distribution networks from 13.35 lei to 19.37 lei per cubic meter, excluding VAT.

The request is motivated by the increase in natural gas procurement costs, against the backdrop of geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and the volatility of international markets. According to Energocom, these have generated an estimated tariff deficit of around 106 million lei.
