The employees and other persons who were inside the Chisinau City Appeals Court on February 27 were evacuated after an individual called the emergency service 112 and said that a bomb was planted at the court. The examinations showed it was a hoax.
Contacted by IPN, press officer of the Chisinau Police Division Natalia Stati said that a bomb squad and the police travelled to the scene and fenced the area. The building and the area around it were searched, but no explosive was found there.
The male caller hasn’t been yet identified. Under the Penal Code, the authors of bomb hoaxes face fines of 27,500 to 42,500 lei, 180 to 240 hours of community service and up to two years in jail.
The Chisinau City Appeals Court was the target of three bomb hoaxes last year.
