Yellow code advisory for thunderstorm with hail

Forecasters issued a yellow code warning for unstable weather for the evening of August 2. Heavy showers with thunder and lighting, in parts with hail and high winds of 15-20 m/s, are expected in the period between 5pm and midnight, IPN reports.

According to the State Hydrometeorological Service, the yellow code advisory for high temperatures remains in force. The daytime temperatures today are projected to rise be +35 degrees Celsius.

Tomorrow, August 3, the temperatures will vary between +26 and +29 degrees Celsius during the day and between +16 and +19 degrees Celsius at night. The next days the temperatures will increase to +33 degrees Celsius. Precipitation was also forecast for the next few days.

Economic operators and service providers will be required to ensure the accessibility of products and services for people with disabilities, the elderly, and individuals with temporary or permanent functional limitations. The accessibility requirements are contained in a bill voted on in the first reading by Parliament, reports IPN.

The new requirements will target six areas: technology and software programs, e-commerce, financial services, transportation, services provided by public institutions, and emergency communications. The regulations will also apply to electronic communication services, access to audiovisual media services, web pages, mobile applications, and self-service terminals.

Accessibility requirements will also be mandatory for certain products, such as hardware systems, payment terminals, ATMs, and e-book readers. Micro-enterprises that offer services will be exempt from complying with these obligations.

The project, developed by the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, aims to increase the autonomy and inclusion of people who face access difficulties.

Non-compliance with accessibility requirements will be subject to administrative penalties. The project will be examined in the second reading, and the new rules will come into effect on January 1, 2028, with certain exceptions for products and services.

A new drone was shot down Saturday morning in Romanian airspace. The Romanian president, Nicusor Dan, announced that the device was intercepted about 10 kilometers west of the town of Sfantu Gheorghe in the Danube Delta and was shot down by a Romanian pilot aboard an F-16 plane, reports IPN.

The Ministry of National Defense of Romania specified that at 08:22, the radar systems detected an unauthorized intrusion into the national airspace by a drone flying in the border area with Ukraine. Two F-16 Fighting Falcon aircraft of the Romanian Air Force, serving in the Air Police combat service, intercepted the target and applied identification and neutralization procedures.

The Romanian authorities specify that the drone was safely shot down in an unpopulated area near the border, and the MApN teams are set to inspect the impact zone. The Ministry announces that it continuously monitors the situation in the airspace and maintains contact with allied structures.

The incident takes place a day after another drone was intercepted by the Romanian Air Forces. On Friday, an aerial target detected about 20 kilometers east of Sulina was shot down by an F-16 plane in the area of Padina, Buzau County.
