Yellow code advisory for hot weather

Hot weather with temperatures of 33 degrees Celsius and above is expected in Moldova on July 11 and 12, IPN reports.

According to the State Hydrometeorological Service, daytime temperatures in northern Moldova in the period will rise to 33 degrees Celsius and there will be showers with thunder and lightning. In the central districts, the thermometers will show up to 34 degrees Celsius and rain will fall on the night of July 12.

In southern Moldova, daytime temperatures will increase to 35 degrees Celsius. There will be scattered showers with thunder and lightning on the night of July 12.

The lowest temperatures during the next two days will oscillate between 18 and 20 degrees Celsius. On April 13, the temperatures will decrease to 28 degrees Celsius.

The weather will gradually warm up in the coming days. The sky will be variable, and on Saturday, locally in the north, and on Monday, isolated, light short-term rains are forecasted, accompanied by electrical discharges, reports IPN.

According to the Authority of Meteorology and Environmental Monitoring, the minimum temperatures will range between +11 and +17 degrees Celsius, and the maximums will gradually rise from +23..+28 degrees to +28..+33 degrees on Monday.

The wind will blow from the northwest, weak to moderate, and the atmospheric pressure will remain within normal limits.

At the same time, the yellow fire hazard code remains in effect until July 31. Due to the precipitation deficit, the exceptional risk of vegetation fires persists over most of the territory and has extended to the regions in the north and south of the country.
