The yellow fire hazard code has been extended for another week. The warning is maintained by the Authority for Meteorology and Environmental Monitoring in the context of high temperatures and precipitation deficit, reports IPN.
According to meteorologists, the current weather conditions favor the persistence of an exceptional danger of outbreak and spread of vegetation fires. The exceptional fire danger persists throughout the entire territory of the Republic of Moldova. In the following days, temperatures are forecasted to reach up to +36 degrees Celsius.
During the yellow code period, the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations recommends avoiding the use of open fire, prohibiting the burning of plant residues for land sanitation, and strict supervision of ignition sources.
