The National Army marks 35 years since its founding. The day began with military activities across the country and with flower laying at the monument of Stephen the Great in the center of the capital and at the “Sorrowful Mother” within the “Eternity” Memorial Complex, reports IPN.
The Minister of Defense, Anatolie Nosatii, sent a message to the military and civilian employees, thanking those who contributed to the formation and development of the National Army. He mentioned that this year’s anniversary is held under the slogan “For 35 years we have been an army”.
“It is more than just a slogan, it is about the people inside the institution, women and men who are on duty, at home and abroad, fulfilling each mission with passion and dedication,” conveyed Anatolie Nosatii.
The Minister mentioned that the National Army is today a modern and appreciated institution. At the same time, he emphasized that the mission of the institution remains the protection of peace and support of citizens when needed.
Congratulations messages have also come from other institutions. The Ministry of Internal Affairs has sent congratulations to the military, veterans, and their families, emphasizing their contribution to the security of the country and its citizens. The Border Police highlighted the cooperation between the two institutions and the role of the military in state security. The National Administration of Penitentiaries congratulated the military and the employees of the National Army, mentioning their dedication, discipline, and responsibility.
On the occasion of the anniversary, the Ministry of Defense is organizing on Saturday, September 5, a program of activities in “Alunelul” Park in the Buiucani sector. The event will start at 10:00 AM and will include a concert performed by the Presidential Orchestra of the Republic of Moldova and special guests, interactive activities and exhibitions of military equipment and technology. Participants will be able to try the special forces zip line and military shooting, and the program will conclude with the traditional soldier’s lunch.
