The authorities in Chisinau do not confirm the information according to which some Russian drones may have crossed the territory of the Republic of Moldova in the context of last night’s attack, October 5, on Ukraine, reports IPN.

Maria Aramă, from the press service of the Ministry of Defense, told Teleradio-Moldova that no drones had been intercepted in the country’s airspace.

According to Ukrainian media, the Russian army attacked over 700 targets last night. Hundreds of Shahed drones and dozens of missiles particularly targeted the western regions of Ukraine. One person was killed and nine were injured in Zaporizhia. Part of the city was left in darkness due to damage to the electrical systems.

Some Telegram channels, citing a map of aerial attacks published by Ukrainian authorities, have reported that the trajectories of some aircraft would have targeted the territory of the Republic of Moldova.

The airline company Flyone has challenged the decisions adopted on June 22 by the Council for the Examination of Investments of Importance for State Security and the Public Services Agency. The company requests the cancellation of these and the suspension of the imposed restrictive measures, reports IPN.

In a press release, the company asserts that the administrative measures affect the investment climate in the Republic of Moldova and send a signal of uncertainty to the business environment, generating risks for economic stability and investment predictability. The company maintains that the examination of the case lasted approximately one year, although the legal term would be 45 days, and the authorities would have applied a provision regarding the change of control, repealed by Parliament in April 2025.

The representatives of the airline further assert that neither the company nor its shareholders were heard before the decision was issued, and that they did not receive the full and reasoned text of it, the authorities only publishing a censored excerpt. The company affirms that it wishes to resolve the dispute administratively and maintain a dialogue with the authorities, but warns that, in the absence of a review of the decisions, it will notify the national and international courts, including the European Court of Human Rights, for the repair of the damages.

According to the data provided by the company, in 2025 Flyone paid over 140.5 million lei in taxes and fees to the state budget, as well as approximately 340 million lei to the Civil Aviation Authority, Chisinau International Airport and air navigation services.

IPN has requested a response from the Government in the context where the Council for the Examination of Investments of Importance for State Security is led by the Prime Minister, but we have not yet received an answer.

The Council for the Examination of Investments of Importance for State Security has ordered the application of the change of control clause in the case of Flyone Company. The decision was made following an investigation that lasted almost 11 months and targeted the company’s investments in a sector considered strategic for national security. At the same time, CEIISS refused to approve some investments by the operator.

The Parliament expands its control over the management of emergency states

The Parliament will exercise broader parliamentary control over the activities of authorities responsible for crisis management, and the duration of the state of emergency will become more flexible. These provisions are found in the project for amending the Law on Crisis Management, adopted in the final reading by deputies, reports IPN.

According to the new amendments, the permanent parliamentary committees will be able to monitor the activity of the National Crisis Management Center, as well as the authorities and institutions involved in crisis management and recovery. The legislature will be able to recommend to the Government the amendment or total or partial repeal of certain executive decisions adopted during the state of emergency.

The project also introduces a parliamentary control mechanism that obliges authorities to transmit to the Parliament, within a maximum of 72 hours, all acts, restrictions, and measures adopted based on the state of emergency.

After the state of emergency has ended, the Government will be obliged to present a detailed report to the Parliament regarding the measures implemented, their impact, and the assessment of the situation at the time of returning to the usual regime.

The new provisions also modify the duration of exceptional regimes. Thus, the state of alert can be established for a maximum of 30 days, compared to 60 days currently. In the case of a state of emergency, the initial term can vary between 30 and 90 days, with the possibility of successive extensions for periods of up to 60 days, if the circumstances that led to its establishment persist.
