The police arrested three students on suspicion of committing at least three street thefts in Botanica district of Chisinau last December. They are from Truseni commune and are aged between 17 and 19, IPN reports.
According to a communiqué of the General Police Inspectorate, the students are suspected of robbing young women of bags. They caused damage to them assessed at 7,000 lei.
The young people face five to seven years behind bars.
A young man drowned in the Dniester River, after disappearing in the water on Friday morning, in the beach area of Vadul lui Voda. The lifeless body of the victim was found by the divers of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations near the locality of Parata, reports IPN.
According to preliminary information, the victim was swimming with a group of young people, and at one point went into the water and did not resurface. The other young people alerted the emergency services.
Divers from the Regional Search and Rescue Directorate No. 1 of the IGSU intervened on the spot, carrying out underwater search operations. The circumstances of the incident are yet to be determined.

The trend of rising fuel prices continues into the weekend. Standard diesel will become more expensive by 28 bani per liter, and gasoline with an octane number 95 – by 5 bani, reports IPN.
Thus, for the period of August 1-3, the National Agency for Energy Regulation has set a maximum selling price of 32.54 lei for a liter of standard diesel and 30.77 lei for a liter of COR 95 gasoline.
Against the backdrop of the risk of a fuel shortage, a state of alert has been instituted in the energy sector for 30 days. During this period, the calculation formula for the maximum diesel price has been temporarily modified, and the trading margin increased by approximately 37 cents per liter. At the same time, diesel exports and re-exports have been limited and mandatory minimum stocks have been introduced to ensure the supply of the domestic market.
