The founder and manager of the travel agency, recently detained in a criminal case for fraud, has been placed in preventive arrest. According to the General Prosecutor’s Office, the woman allegedly deceived approximately 300 people, to whom she sold holiday packages for vacations in Turkey, without providing the promised services, reports IPN.

According to the Prosecutor’s Office, the woman, aged 25, is alleged to have committed the acts under investigation between April and July of this year. As the manager of the travel agency, she is said to have collected money from customers, promising advantageous priced travel packages. Subsequently, the promised services were not provided.

In one case, a woman would have paid over 120 thousand lei for a family stay at a five-star hotel in Turkey, however, the vacation never took place.

Previously, the General Inspectorate of Police estimated the damage at approximately one million lei. The Prosecutor’s Office states that the exact amount is being determined, and the criminal investigation continues to recover the damages and identify all the people involved.
